The Quality of a Diamond
The quality of a diamond is determined by a number of different methods including the famous 4Cs of diamond grading (Cut, Colour, Clarity and Carat Weight). This diamond grading system provides an excellent guide to the quality of a diamond. The numbers, sizes, colours, locations and visibility of any inclusions and / or blemishes in a diamond can also effect the grading and quality of a diamond.
This page may prove useful to you if you are getting to grips with the basics of diamonds or if you are looking to refresh your knowledge. While this is handy, it is worth bearing in mind that antique stones such as old mine cut diamonds predate this grading system thus not all of it is relevant. We are always happy to answer any questions if you need further clarification or information on a particular diamond.
